8:30 a.m.-9:15 a.m. Welcome and Introduction/Icebreaker exercise with video

9:15 a.m.-10:30 a.m. Research Review and video examples

10:30 a.m.-10:45 a.m. Break

10:45 a.m.-12:00 p.m. Evaluating child's  behavior

12:00 p.m.-1:00 p.m. Lunch on your own

1:00 p.m.-2:45 p.m. Rewards and consequences/Corrective procedures

2:45 p.m.-3:00 p.m. Break

Workshop Objectives:

 1. Participants will learn the basic functions of behavior (Functional Behavior Assessment) and how to determine what is maintaining common problem behaviors they observe in children.

2. Participants will understand the research literature's recommendations on behavior management in the classroom and the home.

3. Participants will view several examples of using rewards and consequences and be able to determine effective versus non-effective uses of these.

4. Participants will learn commonly employed corrective procedures, as well as how and when to correctly utilize these procedures.

 5.   Participants will be able to evaluate a child's behavior in a particular environment to assist in improving behavior through using rules and environmental modifications. Participants will also practice writing appropriate rules and consequences for a child they encounter in their classroom or home.

 

 

 

 

   

 A certificate of attendance will be issued to each attendee after workshop is over 

  • 6.5 CEU's content Area I; 2 CEU's Content Area II approved for SLP
  • CEU's requested for PT
  • 6.5 CEU's approved for Social Workers
  • LPC's must contact the local board for CEU approval prior to the workshop
  • OT's simply submit certificate of attendance for approval
